Book now for a real summer treat with two glorious outdoor productions of Shakespeare's most loved plays - The Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth, in the stately Victorian settings of Brown Hart Gardens, just off Bond Street.

Principal Theatre Company is a professional company based in Southgate, North London. It is run by Paul Gladwin and Elizabeth Rowden. 2010 will be their tenth year of staging open-air Shakespeare and as a result they are producing two shows in rep for the summer of 2010 - 'The Taming of The Shrew' and 'Macbeth'.

Taming of the Shrew - Open Air Theatre, Wed 14 July, 6.30pm

The Taming of the Shrew is an hilarious romp through 1980s Britain. See Shakespeare's funniest comedy in all it's riotous splendour. Can the mad-brained Petruchio tame the wild cat Kate? Will Lucentio's good looks or Old Gremio's vast wealth win the heart of the 'innocent' Bianca? This fantastically funny musical extravaganza is for everyone aged from six to ninety six and is definitely a date for the diary.

Macbeth - Open Air Theatre, Wed 21st July, 6.30pm

In rep they will also be staging the infamous Scottish play “Macbeth” where they are transported to a smoky jazz club where the three sassy singers pull all the strings. This brutal study of ambition and destruction of the soul promises to be a thrilling evening with their cast of 20 actor musicians.

"All the world's a stage
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages."
